What I'm Loving Wednesday!

Hey, Hey, Hey!

Happy Hump Day!

New music on my ipod for the workout playlist! Carrie's new single, Good Girl, BOB So Good, and Kelly Clarkson Stronger

I'm loving that at 4:00 today, the Bar Exam is officially OVER!  Life can get back to normal.  I am so proud of all of the studying J has done to prepare for the exam, but I am ecstatic to have him back.

Am I the last one to try 1-2-3 mug cake?  I'm in love!  It is a low-cal fresh easy desert.
3 tablespoons of cake mix (mix one box of angel food cake mix and one box of devils food)
2 tablespoons of milk or water
1 minute in the microwave

I'm loving Easter decorations, but struggling with the appropriate time to display them!

I'm loving that I decluttered my closet this weekend and made a serious dent in my clothes hoarding problem!  It is so great to be able to move my clothes around and shut my dresser drawers.  (this is not my closet, but maybe after a visit to the container store I will share pics....maybe) :)

Really, I'm just loving that the exam is over!  Now more time with my boys in a stress free home!

Tour Guide Tuesday: Loveless Cafe

Featuring....

source
Loveless Cafe is located off Hwy 100 on the west side of Nashville.  Established in 1951, this cafe serves the best country cookin' in Nashville, and you can quote me on that!  Loveless was originally a travelers motel in the 1900's and a restaurant was added in the 1950's specializing in chicken and biscuits.  Although the motel business ended in 1985, the original secret biscuit recipe is still alive and well!  From country ham to meatloaf to fried green tomatoes, this country menu is sure to please any southern family.  Loveless is one of my go-to's for Nashville visitors, it has never disappointed!

Loveless supports a large online presence at lovelesscafe.com.  They ship ham and jam from Nashville to everywhere across the US.  The Hams and Jams shop is the perfect place to shop and sip a coca-cola in a bottle while waiting for your table.

We all have Ms. Carol Fay to thank for the number one attraction at Loveless, the biscuits.  Ms. Carol earned the nickname The Biscuit Lady for these delicious treats.  Hot, fresh biscuits are served at every table accompanied by apple, blackberry and peach jam.  Ms. Carol did not create the recipe, but she did keep the secret and make the biscuits for 25 years.  She helped the brand reach the infamy it deserved!

Don't forget to save room for desert.  Fudge pie, apple pie, turtle pie, chocolate cake and fresh banana pudding are just a few of the southern staples on the menu daily.

Tips for visiting Loveless Cafe
1. Saturday and Sunday's until around 2pm are the busiest time to dine at Loveless.  There are plenty of shops to occupy your time, but you can call ahead to be added to the wait list.  Try going for dinner to miss the hour + wait times.
2. Check out the hams and jams shop.  There are great cookbooks to purchase and you can take home a jar of your favorite jam (mine is blackberry!).
3. If you are planning a big event like a wedding or work Christmas party, check out the Loveless Barn.  I have never been to an event there, but you are guaranteed one thing....a delicious menu!
4. If a trip to Nashville is not in your near future, check out the online shop at lovelesscafe.com
5. To stay in good standings with me, please invite me on any trip to Loveless you may take ;)

Award Season's Best Dressed!

Award season is over, here are a few of my favorite fashion moments.

The color of this gown is perfection with Violia's skin tone, but her glow and pride this award season completed every outfit.
Pucci
Golden Globes

Nudes are HOT this season, and Kate kills it in this dress.  Simple beauty.
Golden Globes

This curve hugging number on the beautiful Sophia left little to the imagination.  But she did clear up any panty-less rumors on the red carpet....she never leaves the house without them!
Marchesa
Screen Actors Guild

Here is my wild card, Octavia Spencer.  I thought her wardrobe choices were very elegant throughout the award season.  In this dress, she highlighted her best features and camouflaged any areas of concern.  We all try to follow that principle, and her stylist was spot on.
Tadashi Shoji gown
Golden Globes

When did this girl have a baby!?!  This color would wash out most people on the carpet, but Jessica owns it and glows in lavender.  Stunning!
Gucci
Golden Globes

Ok, maybe I'm a bit biased, in my book, Carrie can do no wrong...at the Grammies I would like to see her in something short and flirty, but she portrays sheer classiness in this gown.
 Gomez-Garcia
Grammys

Lace is EVERYWHERE!  I'm loving this whole look, especially the accessory on her right ;)
Marchesa
SAG

A big pop of color!  Michelle wears this dress beautifully.
Louis Vuitton
Oscars

Emma may be my favorite from this award season.  She has really stepped up from just another 20 something actress to a legitimate artist and fashionistia.  I think the whole look here really works.  Fabulous dress, sleek hair, simple jewelry, and muted makeup.  It's all about the dress.
Emma Stone
Giambattista Valli Haute Couture
Oscars

Momma always said, if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all.  So for the worst dressed list, I will let the pictures do the talking...p.s. I don't hate on fashion risks, rather, I tend to label worst dressed as offensive, tacky, or not dressing for your body!
Nikki at Grammys

Final thoughts, modest is hottest ladies ;)

Who did I forget???

Spring Fever and Spring Cleaning!

Happy Friday Loves!

Since winter is non-existant and J's little test next week has me in stressed cleaning/organizing mode (does anyone else scrub, dust and rearrange when stressed?)
Maybe Cinderella's birds will fly in my window, help me change sheets and sing with me...
*Thanks, Disney, for unrealistic expectations, a girl is never too old to dream!

Back to reality, let's talk about some fun cleaning tips.

1. Put a shelf on top of the washer and drier to hold necessities, beautify the space, and most importantly, keep things from falling behind the units.

from pinterest
2. After you dust those baseboards, keep them clean longer by rubbing a drier sheet along the floor.

3. How to remove water stain from wood?  Try toothpaste!

4. This one I am terrible at.....How to Fold a Fitted Sheet.

5. Make your own air freshner

Enjoy your weekend!  I'm sure I will find something more fun to get into than cleaning!  What are your go-to tips or tools of the trade?!?

You Have the Right to Remain Silent

This post is based heavily on this post http://www.divinecaroline.com/22323/99603-i-m-arrest-what-fifty-bizarre

During J's Bar studying, he has come across some very complicated and detailed laws, but this post has nothing to do with that!  He also found some funny laws too, so I thought I would share.

In Arkansas, it is illegal to mispronounce the name of the state, Arkansas.

In Connecticut, a pickle cannot actually be a pickle unless it bounces.

In Florida, if you tie an elephant to a parking meter, you must pay the same parking fee as you would for a vehicle.

In Indiana, the value of pi is 4, and not 3.1415. (I bet they have funny looking circles!  stupid math joke :)

In Michigan, a woman may not cut her own hair without her husband’s permission.

In Montana, it’s a felony for a wife to open her husband’s mail.
In New York, while riding in an elevator, you must talk to no one, fold your hands, and look toward the door.

In South Carolina, if a man promises to marry an unmarried woman, he is required by law to keep his promise.

In Washington, it’s illegal to pretend that one’s parents are wealthy.

In West Virginia, if you make fun of someone who does not accept a challenge, you risk a six-month prison sentence.

In Wisconsin, unless a customer specifically requests it, margarine may not be substituted for butter in a restaurant.

In Wyoming, unless you have an official permit, you may not take a picture of a rabbit from January to April.

Good news Tennesseans, our silly law posted is it is strictly forbidden to sell hollow logs, I think I am safe on that one!

Full of useless trivia today :)

What I'm Loving Wednesday!

Partnering up with Little Daisy May for one of my favorite posts,

I'm loving that I am in full workout mode again.  It was hard to shuffle the commute to Clarksville everyday and maintain a steady workout schedule, but it is finally working out.

I'm loving the start of Lent and keeping with my plan, a prayer of thanksgiving!

I get to go recruiting at UT next week!  I'm loving a change of pace from office life!

I'm loving a Mass pick me up in the middle of the week, heading to Ash Wednesday Mass tonight!

I'm absolutely loving my new BBQ find in Nashville, Edleys!  Good BBQ is hard to find, and I'm so glad to have found Edleys :)

I'm loving the yoga class I caught on accident Monday.  I was heading to a spin class, but it was full, so reluctantly I decided to try the 75 minute yoga class next door, and it was fabulous!  The instructor was great and the pace was perfect....namaste :)

I'm loving that Monday I came home to dinner on the table, thanks babe!
I'm loving the Urban Decay Naked Pallet online tutorials I have found, I know everything is google-able, but never thought to look for that specific of make-up tips!

What are you loving today?!?!

Happy hump day!
