ESPY's Tribute to Pat Summitt

Did you see the tribute to Pat Summit during the ESPYs?  Pat was presented the Arthur Ashe Courage Award by Peyton Manning during Wednesday night's award show.  The video tribute, to the 8 time National Championship coach, was outstanding...if you didn't get to see it, check it out here....

Needless to say, Pat will go down as one of the best coaches in basketball, period.  She is an Olympic Silver medalist, was the head coach of our beloved Vols since age 22, and won 16 SEC titles.  The tribute describes her humble beginnings in rural Tennessee, her college career at UT Martin and highlights some of her personal life struggles.

I found the players commentaries throughout the tribute the most touching.  Each Lady Vol had so much respect for Pat, she inspired them to do their best in everything.  Every one of her student athletes graduated from UT with a bachelors degree.  Her passion for greatness filled the hearts of her girls on and off the court.  To be such a fearless, passionate, respected leader is something I aspire to be.

Pat is now fighting early onset dementia, and is not giving up.  With the support of her son, her family and all of her loving Vols fans behind her, she is striding forward in her battle.

Pat, you are my inspiration!  ESPN, thanks for sharing the beautiful, remarkable story!
